My top favorite albums

Posted by BroSkullEmoji - March 2nd, 2024

Idk I'm bored, I'm gonna do something a bit different.

These are pretty much exclusively metal, hardcore, and rock albums (BUT there is one that fuses metal and trance, so there's that)

These are albums that I find myself re-listening to the most.

In no particular order:

1) Sentenced - The cold white light (Gothic metal)

Awesome fucking album, also pretty easy to listen to since you can tell when a song starts and ends, and most of them have a pop structure.

2) Converge - Jane doe (Metalcore / Mathcore)

This might be a cliche pick for all the metalcore nerds but I just can't avoid it, the album IS as good as everyone says it is, it's very noisy tho, it takes some time and re-listens to appreciate this album.

3) Converge - AWLWLB (Metalcore / Mathcore)

I conisder this album as a relatively accesible choice for people who are trying to get into the converge sound (aside from their first album ofc, though, that one has a very different sound) And it has its remarkable moments and blood-crushing riffs.

4) Darko US - Oni (Deathcore / Experimental Deathcore)

Great fucking piece of art, might be a bit too overproduced for people who prefer a more old school feel to their music, but the creative minds of these people are great for the standards of Deathcore (I also love the softer parts of this album such as infinite beauty or oni, they're oddly fitting)

5) After the burial - Rareform (Melodic metalcore / sumeriancore)

I still need to listen more of this band since people agree that they have a perfect discography, but from what I've heard so far, this album really stood out, despite that it's not a particulary poppy album, it's still super catchy and keeps you on edge.

6) Three days grace - their first 3 albums (yes, all of them (Post-grunge / Alternative metal))

I might be super biased towards this one since this is the band that started it all for me when I was like 13, their songs might not be super flashy or crazy but they still hold up to this day, I could add transit of venus here but I only heard it recently, so I don't have much to say abt it.

7) Suffocation - pierced from within (Brutal death metal / technical death metal)

Tbh I feel like PFW showed more of the band's awesome musicianship than EOTF did, while yes, EOTF pretty much gave birth to slam death metal, I consider PFW as a better album overall.

8) Sea of treachery - welcome to wonderland (Post hardcore / metalcore)

Some people may already know how much I love this one, I even did some tribute fanart of the album cover with my OCs, great riffs, great choruses, great little bits and great band.

9) Vein.fm - Errorzone and This world is going to ruin you (Mathcore / Metalcore, with a bit of nu metal influence)

I apologize to my friends for fanboying Vein.fm yet again, but I just love this band and their stuff.

10) Blood stain child - Epsilon (Trancecore)

This was the trancy album I was talking about, it's truly a love letter to Trancecore with their awesome riffs and chorus with their clean singer, some parts aren't my favorite but it was a hell of an enjoyable album.
